Decisions, Decisions...

I started playing soccer when I was 11 (back when I was cute as clearly depicted LOL) and stopped when I was about 28 because my knees were killing me. So, I started playing hockey which was much easier on the knees (gliding vs pounding/pivoting), but not-so-easy on the rest of my body. After 10 years of hockey which includes three concussions, a broken tooth, countless cuts and bruises, and a broken leg (in 2004) I decided that it is time to hang up my skates. The boys are getting younger and meaner and I am of course getting older and mellower so it is time. :::sigh::: So, last year I decided to take up tennis and discovered that I could play pretty well and that I enjoyed hanging out with civilized female athletes rather than neanderthal male athletes. Go figure! LOL But now, I am getting that old familiar itch for a little more competitive action and perhaps a bit more contact so I think I might try a new sport or two... or at least try out and see if this old, broken chick can make it through tryouts that are coming up soon. If I happen to make both teams, I will have to choose. Which do YOU think I should play? Wish me luck!

OMG LOL I'm not sure which of the two I would prefer to see you play...probably the football. I think some of those roller chicks can be pretty brutal. What does everyone else think?

Playing football would be sooooo cool! The rollergirls are short on players it seems so the word is... if you are interested and can skate then you are on the team. One "tryout" down; one to go! :)

Hi Shelley's sister. You have a wonderful sis. I don't care for sports (unless it is Nascar) but I think they are both dangerous but maybe the football a little less. It seems maybe you like dangerous though. LOL. I say football but unless you do want the more dangerous. Good luck on getting on either team.

I pick the roller chicks! I'm Shelley's friend and I think I met you in January at Carraba's! Anyway keep us posted on what you choose!

Roller chicks for sure. You need a name though. I would challenge your readers to come up with a name for you. I'll start with Tracy Tornado.

Yeah, let's pick a name for Tracy... Do they wear numbers? I know you'll be #13.... hmmm, I have to think of a name. Make a new post with the name challenge.

Hmmm...do you think playing roller derby or football you won't get you any "concussions, a broken tooth, countless cuts and bruises, and a broken leg." Tracy, you might want to consider sticking to broomball and tennis. :=)

Cheese is right... these are rough sports. BUT I am thinking that I might fare well in an all-female league. After all, I think I have proven that I can "hang" with da boys in terms of taking hits. Surely I can take them from chicks while in full pads!! Of course most of these chickies are quite a bit younger so that might be the equalizer. We'll see!!! :)
